Shang Hai Inn in Rancho Mirage

With nice decor and a calm and relaxing atmosphere, this Chinese restaurant is a cut above what one would expect in a strip mall. The portions are fairly large; even the discounted lunch specials are pretty sizable. The food, while not incredible, is certainly well made and tasty. Definitely worth a visit if you are nearby.

Great food..these people hardly speak English. Beef and broccoli..is great at lunch prices. Lot more expensive at lunch. Cute place that not too bright. Decor is nice too.

Been coming here with my family for 15 years. Best Chinese Food I have ever had. Always fresh and Roasted Duck is amazing!! Employees are always nice and professional.

Good portion sizes, but the food we ordered (orange chicken, mu shu pork, and chicken lomein) overall was bland and expensive for the quality. Staff was very friendly.

Really good quality Asian food. The atmosphere was excellent and the service was great.

Everything was delicious. The cornbeef sandwich was the best I ever had.The staff was helpful and patient while deciding what to eat.

Server was very rude. Trying to rush us. What she didn't realize was our father had just passed away and we had come from the memorial service. If we asked a question she would say "not ready, I come back ". What's up with that? There were 6 of us, Bill well over 200.00 sure would expect better.

Nice place, but unfortunately bad quality and too expensive!

A little Pricey. Veggie egg rolls are greasy. The veggie fried rice tasted burnt could not even eat it. I got take out so was stuck with no dinner. So sad was hoping to find a good place to eat. This is not it.

Sorry to say this was the worst experience, I've ever had at a restaurant. Came from work wirh a couple friends, the waitress was quite rude to us. The service was slower than molasses even with bringing water. Waitress was rude taking our order. When she brought the the fiood, my orxer was missing and she took off in such a hurry, Nevet csme to and see if we were doing alright. I had to flag her down to find out if my foid was ready, ended up taking it to go. First time Ive been to a restaurant and left hungry! Never going back!

Food was great, dessert was great. However, our waitress rudely laufghed, and commented out loud about her tip. I guess she wanted more? I believe that a person serving customers should appreciate any amount of tip and not try to belittle customers. My mother treated me and my son to dinner, therefore, my mother is the one that left the tip.

Terrible food. Spent a decent amount of money on takeout and everything I received was bland &/or too oily. Extremely disappointed with the quality. Not even going into this with high expectations, if McDonalds had a Chinese section on their menu this would be in the dollar section of that menu. Better off going to Panda Express before spending a dollar here. If you order takeout they will give you extremely old food. I doubt they would pass a health inspection if someone examined their kitchen. Pass this location & you’ll thank me later.

Delicious food. Great variety of dishes. Very friendly staff. Clean and well decorated place. One of my favorite Chinese food restaurants to go to out here.

More authentic and open on Christmas!

Food was ok, strange undertone throughout all the dishes that kept me from finishing however. Grease tasted old as well. My son that eats everything didn't want to take the leftovers home, which as he said, says a lot.
